Trackmaster or most logging programs export a csv file with latitude, longitude, mph, and much more.
Using RaceRender, you import the video and video csv file.
Then you sync up the two.
RaceRender exports the video with the overlay of the map and mph.
You can get fancy and get an OBD-II logging program that also outputs a file and you can overlay RPM, water temp and water else you can get from the OBD0-II stream. YOu can sync those up by matching the latitude and longitude and merging the two files.

With the GoPro, there is a lot of wasted video, but you edit it all out.
The next version GoPro has remote start which will be nice. Then I could start the camera closer to the start of the timing making it easier to sync.
Syncing on the track is easier since I can tell on the csv file when the lap starts as well as when I'm crossing the start/stop.
Autocross is a little tougher. I don't autocross much so I haven't played around with it that much.
