I did it without removing the exhaust, but I did need to loosen the driveshaft center bearing. Loosening the bearing meant "ripping out" an aluminum heat shield and then reinstalling it when the project was done.
Do you plan on keeping your car for along time? If so, I'd recommend replacing the driveshaft center bearing while you're at it. I replaced my guibo this spring and now I think the center bearing needs replacing. |
