I'd get your alignment checked if you are rubbing with 215/45/17's. I run a similar size wheel with almost 3.5 degrees of negative camber and don't have any rubbing issues. Also no issues with my camber setup for street use at something like 1.5 degrees... I do use a 5mm spacer up front, but I had no rubbing issues before the spacers either.

I'd also make sure the smaller wheels are actually lighter. I read a review recently that 6-9 pounds per wheel can make as much as a 5-7rwhp difference. So lighter wheels do help.

Also, are your DS1's real? I didn't realize it, but there are a lot of knockoffs that still imprint the wheels. They should have the motorsport imprint and a part/serial number printed into them. Some of the knock off motorsport wheels are much heavier than the real thing.
