Looking at the realoem diagram, it looks like mine is upside down. However, both cables on my Ti and M3 were installed the same way and the elbow just before the cable meets the throttle body is facing towards the engine. I think the realoem diagram has it pictured incorrectly. I'm gonna try to find a picture in the Bentley manual. Here's the realoem diagram for referrence:
