Unlike a Ford Pinto, I've found that a BMW doesn't really mind 20 or 30
laps around the average road course. Took the bone- stock '95 318i
out one afternoon just as a joke, and it didn't mind at all. Smelled a bit
funny as all the oil burnt off the exhaust manifold, and the brakes were
a bit long for a day or 2 after, but that was it.
Oh, and it scraped the door handles up a bit, 'cause it had so much body roll!
That said, I'd done the timing guides and the cooling plastic within the previous
six months or so...
