Yup, purchasing a new top is more than the car is worth, so, maintaining it is key. I read in one post tho, that a member here in San Francisco had his top replaced for >$2100 from Peter Pan BMW. More than 5 years ago. My last new Cali top motor from BMW was $275 from Pelican. To address the probability of the top eventually breaking, I acquired a spare top or two for that eventuality. (You really have to like Cali's, I do) I am currently testing a set of printed gears from Mike and if they prove durable, it will present a repair option for our motors. I just spoke to another Cali owner here in Sacramento and am encouraged that another Cali is available for an aspiring future owner. Needs some TLC, but nothing major. The person who is lucky enough to acquire this car should realize there is a degree of maintenance and future probable repair in trade for the open air enjoyment. I might be a bit biased...
