FYI: it wasn't ever actually called a 'cali top' by BMW. It was called an 'Open-Air Folding top' or just folding top. There was never a 'california package' offered on ti's and they aren't all that rare either... there are less ti's without an open-top or sunroof than there are with them. So the hard topped ti's are the actual rarest ti's.
btw: the replacement for the open-air top motor is like $475 and takes months to get. The gears inside are plastic and are not replaceable. I had to change my tops motor as it was hopping open instead of sliding smoothly! |
