Wow, that doesn't sound safe at all. I never heard of a problem like that, but since the car is taking your RPM's to exactly 5k, i would assume it has to be related to the DME or maybe cruise control. If i were you, i would try disconnecting your cruise control. just disconnect the cable from the motor.
My thinking is something went wrong with it and it's trying to adjust the speed for you. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for you. Best of luck. |
