If the dent is in the fender, and not the door, you may want to try a do-it-yourself fix and pull the fender off the car and get it up on the (carpeted) work bench.

After thoroughly washing the inside as well as the outside of the fender, heat the paint slightly with a hair dryer (to avoid cracking the paint), and pound it out from the back with a wood block and/or soft face mallet (be sure the block and mallet are totally clean as well). The fender steel is quite thin, so go easy with it.

If you do screw it up royally, you get another fender and have your paint guy paint only the fender. The color may not be perfect (due to sun-fading) but should look better than a dent. If the door and hood are buffed-out after the fender is installed, the gloss should match well.

If your bumper was painted off the car and matches well, the fender should look as good. You should not spend much to have just a fender, off the car, painted. Painting the fender on the car will cost much more, due to prep work and tying up a booth for the day to spray, BUT the color will be blended into the door and hood so it will look perfect.
