You slather never-seeze on them with the brush in the can before you put the wheel back on.

This reduces the galvanic corrosion between the hub and wheel center. You should do this every time the wheels are off, especially if you drive in salty conditions. The wheel bolts should get a drop of never-seez as well to get more accurate torque wrench readings and prevent frozen bolts.
