Hi everyone, I am new to the bmw world, and absolutely love my my '96 318ti I bought a few months ago.

I recently came across a little problem that I need to repair fast. I signed up for a track even coming up pretty soon at Mid-Ohio to test the 318 out. But when I went to tear some turns up the other day I found out that the seat belt locking mechanism on the drivers side doesn't lock. For a cheap way to hold me into the seat in past cars I've always pulled the seat belt all the way out to its max extension and then just pulled it tight against me so it was locked. My passenger seat belt does this but not the drivers seat. I was wondering if anyone has every had this happen and what they did to fix it. I figured I would throw the question out there before I pulled it apart and looked for a possible replacement.
