So the engine was out of a manual trans car,,, And you forgot to pull the pilot bushing out? Auto's don't need a pilot bushing. The flywheel or torque converter sometimes have a stub that fits in the hole. If the converter did not seat to the flywheel properly you likely shoved on the front of the pump and its toast. The pump can usually be replaced by pulling the tranny and its held in by a ring of bolts around the input shaft, BUT,,, If you hammered it bad you pumped shrapnel into the tranny and its likely going to cause the tranny to die in the near future.
