I've had a full inspection done on the car at two different shops, and neither have mentioned any issues with rust.
Also the previous owner's original thread (
http://318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40550) says "ZERO RUST!"
so I hope this helps. I haven't personally been under the car to verify, but I trust the previous owner and the shops I had inspect the car.
