I just realized I was screwed by BMW. At 30k miles, my differential started to squeal. BMW replaced it under warranty and used an open diff because "that's what your car came with." Now I remember I even asked if they could put in an LSD since they were replacing the diff anyway. I was told an open diff is free, an LSD is about $800. I went with the open diff. That was about 12 years ago, so I can't do anything about it. Bummer about my Bimmer!
On the positive side, my wife told me that I can get my clutch replaced and my diff rebuilt when we get our tax refund. __________________
