yes, it was stuck on the dowel. I banged it with 2 12" 1/2" extensions & off it popped off.

How hard is it to replace a clutch w/ jackstands? I own a set of 4 U.S.A made 4 ton jackstands, but is there enough room to pull the tranny out & have enough room to pull the exhaust, etc.?

Yep, my car has the same symptoms, but it happens everyday. If the car sits for a week or two unused, the shuddering is violent. Then it goes back to normal after it warms up!
