You really need someone with a fault code reader to figure what the problem is. Mine was the seat mat in the passanger seat. The mat signals the SRS system whether the passanger seat is occupied...

It should only cost about $100 to have Dent Wizzard fix it. Give them a try. They will do a much better job than trying to fix it yourself.

Your stock shocks are probably toast by now. Shocks normally last 50K to 75K miles. They wear out in the mid range first and the old push on the car and see how the shock rebounds is not a reliable...

It is really hard to tell when shocks wear out. The old bounce the fender trick doesn't work. They wear out in the normal ride...

If you go to a Dinan dealer in your area, they can just download the software without removing the chip. It takes less than a 1/2 hour.

The replacement cost of the rims are $315 each (see www.bmwwheels.com).

With my zip code, it says a 1998 TI active with 28,000 miles in excellent condition is worth $10,985 for a private party sale.
