what does the dinan tranny chip actually do? Raise the rev limiter for sure, but does it actually do anything more?

So you have the Dinan transmission chip right now? How do you like it? Does it help your car rev faster or does it just simply raise the rev limiter?

I didn't use the manual mode cause of the delay when you shift, so it's hard to time it perfectly to the redline.

my 318i ran a 17.4s on steelies, which seems very slow.

It's a 96. I already have the stage 3 software download on my car. Just the last couple of days I've been thinking about that tranny software. haha

yea but there isnt a shift point in 4th gear. If I need the extra gear (4th) during a race, I can simply shift from 3rd to 4th manually when I'm at redline. Good debate. Thanks for the quick reply!
