Thanks, I wondered about it leaking into the bell housing, but since it wasn't leaking from the reservoir I did't pursue it, I'll give it a look.

Because it was boiling over. The fan did not come on the times I checked, doesn't mean it never came on. By 12:00 I mean the needle points straight up to the sky and won't go any farther.
