Replaced CPS - will code clear by itself?

I got a CEL that told me that the Crankshaft Position Sensor was bad. I replaced it and now have to go do smog. Will the code clear itself? If so, will it do so right away or will it a take a few...

Need picture of diagnostic port cap in the engine bay

I seem to have lost the cap to the 20 pin diagnostic port in the engine bay. Can anyone snap me a photo of the underside of the cap and shoot it my way? I'm having trouble locating the exact part...

Yup, it takes about 100 miles for it to clear. But the issue of not being to read codes goes beyond just smog - hence my question here.

I'm having the same problem. Used to be able to read codes...then it stopped working. It simply won't link up. Now I'm due for CA smog and need to clear a CEL...

Anyone have success with a fix...
