I would much prefer to do a Euro M3 engine swap...

I would much prefer to do a Euro M3 engine swap which has the same HP as the E46 M3 engine and it would bolt right in with the harness and everything. The S54 would be way too much trouble dude but...

I mean the car will accelerate really well and be really responsive but the engine will be revving just as high as M42 did at freeway speeds meaning pretty bad fuel economy and decreased engine life...

According to the Bentley Manual the M3 has a ZF gearbox and all the other E36 cars have Getrag units. The ratois I believe are the same but the ZF unit is stronger.

Anyone ever swap in the 2.5 or 2.8 motors into a TI using the stock 4 cyl gearbox, drive shaft and rear end. In theory it shoud be really easy and it should perform great with the short gearing....
