As it turns out, the 318ti is an effective weapon for hunting deer, but if you have other options in your arsenal, I would recommend those over the 'ti. Expensive and a little scary.

The brake switch is probably the culprit. My tail lights did the same thing a couple months ago, and a new brake switch fixed the problem. This is a known issue with our cars....
