96 california edition parting out. Apparently I did something wrong trying to post an add earlier today, so I will try again. Parting out a 96 California edition. Car suffers from some issue with the EWS, DME, ignition coil that I just can't get around. On top of that there is some crudely repaired chassis damage that I have recently found under inches of panel bond and seam sealer. Time to part it out. Car was well equipped and has a number of new parts. Most of the accessories that are with the car work. I would like to get what I have into this folly which is around $1200 total. I am very much willing to deal for what I have. Just PM me and I will most definitely PM back. Here is the build spec for this car... I also have a Peake research tool, hardly used at all. You may also email me at mharvey73@yahoo.com. Make an offer for anything I have, any ideas will be entertained. |
Top motor for the Cali please. |
Windshield washer system - at least the hose please, to 94131 :) And maybe the peake tool. Also - intereted in the cali top if it worked |
Also interested in any California top parts if there's any left! |
I haven't sold anything yet. The top is a complete cartridge with canvas, sliders, springs, motor, switches, gasket, headliner, screws, clamps (from underneath),hoses, rubber gasket for installing in your hole. I can bust this up but I would hate to do so. One of the keepers is broken but it is still available from BMW, the other side is fine. NOTICE though... this car never received the wind deflector upgrade from BMW. I post this hoping that those interested in the top motor only may realize what all makes a complete unit and it would be in their best interest to buy the whole thing. From BMW this thing goes for like $4000. I will cut everything I have loose for $500. If no one is interested in that I will let go what I have in pieces til it is gone. Due to the immense interest in the one piece, please PM me your intent and wants and we will go from there. After I eat dinner I will get back on here. Thanks |
When you refer to a broken keeper, can you describe what that is please? What did that translate to in terms of top operation? Thanks! If you do part out the top, I am interested in the motor please. Thanks! |
To be fair, mine works ok, I only wanted the motor just to have a spare, but I would much rather see the unit go to someone who actually needs it. :) I would love to get the washer parts, please let me know how much, I can paypal asap!!! Now, to those who need the repair: if you buy the unit, I would love to get ahold of your old broken parts, to have some spares floating around :) |

There are a lump of new parts on this car as well. Starter Belts both main drive and a/c extra gasket kits from a head and block kit hood prop cylinders hazard switch spark plugs the correct (brand new) coils for a coil on plug swap and the correct harness new radiator top cover with the plastic clips that hold the radiator in at the top new lower valance covers new lower radiator support clips (plastic that break easily) new PCV valve used but good fuel rail with injectors, new crank position sensor ( 600 ohm) new cam position sensor new cabin filters with mystery plastic piece Both window motors work the interior is gutted at this time so it is easier to get parts right side mirror works, left side is busted sort of still have the cd changer and amplifier has the silver 5 spoke rims with un-worn but really crappy tires on them (walmart Nikkens?) the valve cover gaskets were used, but can be shipped with the valve cover intact the oil filter housing has been re-done including the bush O-rings and fresh filter. all glass is intact and in good shape, including the hinged 1/4 glass the leather seating is dirty, but in workable condition interior plastics are 50/50 dashboard is in good condition headliner is in good condition Exterior body panels are 50/50 This engine makes good dry compression ( within spec) on all cyinders but cylinder 2 which is 5 pounds off from the rest. Wet compression it is the same across the board and is actually above spec by a little. Car has 191,000 miles on it. All four rotors and brake calipers look good. Just let me know particulars of what you want and I will do my best to get back with you. |
I'm just looking for the whole system minus the tank - jets (if heated, they should have wires going to them), the hose going to the jets from the pump and the electrical connector for the pump (just need to use the housing, mine got clamped in the hood). Let me know! :) Quote:

I am interested in the complete OBC system including the OBC, wiring, and turn signal stalk. |

Artem, a different question: Can you still mill parts? Do you have the means to scan and create the replacement gears? If not, I found a place through a forum member in Utah, that manufactures aircraft parts. They made a gear(s) for him when he had his Cali. It's not made it up my list to make the call yet, but that might be a means to at least address the gear motor issue. Perhaps at the next meet, I can pick your brain about how to proceed moving forward. Prolly at least a half dozen members who I bet would want a gear or two. I'd recommend two to replace both if we are able to do this. Sorry OP to hijack the topic for a moment. Now back to your normal scheduled programming. Cheers! |
You said this has a COP kit right? Any pictures of the "correct" harness? Also, are the seals on the quarter glass where they meet door in good shape? Mine are deteriorating and I want to find a set in excellent shape. It is a shame the seals are parts of the window assembly=/ Also, price on the hood prop cylinders? |
Hey guys, Thanks for all the interest. I have been slow to answering messages and responding and I apologize for that. But I have been slammed at work all of a sudden. I promise I will get to everybody's message in the next couple of days. I also have all of next week off, so I will be better in touch here in a few days. I have sold absolutely nothing yet. Just hang in there. |
