S52 Swap

I plan on doing an s52 swap in my ti pretty soon I got a sweet deal on the engine and the transmission for only 1700$ with only 60k miles... I have a pretty good knowledge about how engines work and how to do the swap, also my dad has been working on e36 BMW's for 20 years so I'm not too worried about doing the swap. I just needed some help finding some parts for the engine like all the oil seals the headers all new belts ect. Can anyone link me to where they got all the parts for their engine swap?

I generally buy parts from a BMW dealer who offers 20% off MSRP.
You can also find OEM parts elsewhere.

If you dad has been working on E36s, where does he get parts from?

I'd start by finding the part numbers using realoem.com and googling part numbers.

He wont tell me because he said he'd help me do the swap but I have to find all the parts and do the research myself and thanks for the info

An easy way to get parts list - get the swap-manual offered on this forum. I'ts pretty comprehensive. For buying parts, local BMW part dept used to be pretty good with the BMWCCA discount, but has gotten a bit more expensive as of late. Plenty of vendors (pelicanparts, Tischer, Bavauto... )
Good luck

The dealer or online merchants is the best source for new parts.

For parts like headers, there are a number of BMW oriented web sites. Most have a classified section.

Google is your friend. The more up front work you do the faster folks will step up to answer your questions. Almost anything you want to know is out here somewhere.

Good luck.
