jailbraking iPhone's. Do you recommend it?

I just bought an iPhone 4s last Friday. I love it so far. This is my first Apple product. I've had Andriod phones for the past few years. I already miss the customization that the Andriod's have. Also, it seems that more Andriod apps are free.

My barber has a jailbroken iPad 2. He said its awesome. He said its customization is like that of Andriod's. He also said a lot of the apps are free then.

Does anyone have first had experience with jailbraking? I'm guessing its illegal and I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble here. Just looking for some opinions.

i have a lot of experience with jailbreaking... have jailbroke every iOS device i have had from iphones to itouches to ipads..

iclarified.com will provide simple tutorials..

once you are jailbroken.. cydia will be your best friend..
installous- will provide you with free apps (works like the app store)
winterboard & dreamboard - customize the springboard

then there is just too many apps to capitalize on in Cydia.
