Oopps!!! And rear quarter panel question...

Oh dear, I hit an armco barrier coming off a slippy roundabout. Barrier hit below window and above the wheels so the 'only' damage is the front wing, door and rear quarter. Now replacing the wing and door should be easy. Its the rear quarter that's the pain. I have found a second hand one. Are they held on by spot welds? Do I just need to drill out about 40 spot welds, or is there some seam welds in there too? So annoyed, grrrr.

that sucks! thats to bad to hear.
there is a guy that went through replacing the whole side and has some good pictures of it.

i will look for the thread and im sure he'll know.

what interior is that? do you have better pictures of the seat?

denglish318ti 03-11-2008 08:04 PM

Cheers mate, I looked for any kind of description of the work involved in replacing a rear quarter and cant find anything about it. Its just the standard sports seats, cloth, with patterned middle and plain edges. Will get some photos in a bit :)

Cheers mate, there is some good pictures there. Especially the one of the rear quarter panels. 150 weld points sounds interesting though :( Will send him a message.

tiFreak 03-11-2008 09:54 PM

did it break one of your nice rims? or did you already have the steely?

denglish318ti 03-11-2008 10:22 PM

Will get some interior pic tomorrow, its cold and dark in old england at the moment!

Didnnt ding my wheel luckily. The arch pushed into the tire and put a gash in it, but the rim is ok

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. However, you should look at the brighter side of things, I think you may have captured an image of a ghost in one of your photos:eek:
