BMW EMBLEM figured i would point this out. i was looking on ebay for something else, and found hood/truck emblems for $2.99 from china, with free shipping. he sold like 400 of them so far, and they seem okay. i know i bought mine and paid like $25 for 2, and i was lucky. most were like $20 each. i might get a 2nd set at the price. my friend keeps buying them, and the idiot keeps getting them to small (for his wheels) or a sticker. haha. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-B...artsQ5fAccesso ries -- plus... they have a picture of to sexy Chinese girls on their listing!! how can u resist.. haha |
I first got one of those wehn I bought my Ti to replace the hood emblem. They look ok but after about 2 months of washes and waxes the paint started to rub off abd blue smeared into the white. Simple truth of you get what you pay for. I tuned around and got the real deal with no issues since. |
I installed a hood roundel in 2004 that I bought from Bav Auto and it was toast in less than two years in the California sun. The original one lasted about 6 years. I have since gone back to the OEM BMW part. This is one aftermarket replacement that wasn't worth it to me. YMMV. |
how about this one? do you trust this one? is it really new without any defects at all? anybody have bought from him? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-C...item2a08fc712f |
If the picture is truly what they are selling, it looks like a genuine BMW part. I can't see anyone going through the expense to make a casting of an original part just to bootleg it. Edit: I don't understand how they can ship for free (if you buy more than 1) and charge $2.98. Gotta be around $2.00 to ship from the US to the US alone. |
in Hong Kong, and China, some (if not all) retail and manufacturing stores have their shipping paid for by the government. these people are either apart of the store, or are friends with the owner, and they ship the packages out with the store that has the Gov. shipping option. so they just sell it for what they want, and shipping is taken care of. |

And to think, BMWs are being built in China. |
oohh yeahh BMWs Emblems are being built(copy) in China!! but someone have bought them from this guy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-C...item2a08fc712f |
Ive bought those before. I'm not sure if it was the exact same seller or not. But, I got a pair in hellrot red to match my ti. It was great durring the spring, but as soon as winter hit, that red faded to yellow in no time. Going to the dealership in the morning with a shopping list, that just reminded to add one more thing... |
yeah, i bought them for my parts car. i do not know how they will hold up, but the quality seems lower then the real ones on my car. |

I just bought 2. We'll see in 10-18 business days how it looks. |
well, i think mine came in only like 5 days, which was very fast for China shipping. they were on my counter for awhile, i didnt install them. the paint seems rough on the surface, so its basically just really shinny thin metal with some paint on it (or something along those lines, maybe ink) i will probably clear coat them a few times to see if i can get the ink to stay. |
I bought a couple, they look cool... I'm going to rattle can some clear on them. If they work then i saved like $40 on two!! |
