driveline vibration

Okay so I replaced the flex disc and the support bearing in my ti and I still have the same vibration I had before. While driving it is really prominent at 40-45 then diminishes with speed. If you let off the throttle it goes away. I am really frustrated right now since this is my daily vehicle. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

Have you checked the condition of the motor mounts, transmission mounts, or differential bushings?

trackfiend 02-16-2009 08:18 PM

No I haven't checked those yet. I will put it up in the air and check it out.

While you're under there look for a spot where a balancing weight may have fallen off the driveshaft. They are usually spot welded on near the ends.

u-joint

trackfiend 02-24-2009 10:31 PM

u-joint it is, the rear one that is. Is it possible to get the u-joint replaced or am I screwed and have to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a new driveshaft?

ClubSport 02-25-2009 01:01 AM

screwed

trackfiend 02-25-2009 01:44 AM

ClubSport thanks for the confidince builder. LOL. I've got a guy checking on matching up a replacement u-joint that will fit the driveshaft. I've heard of it being done before on non serviceable u-joints. Hopefully he will find something.

you can search in the classifieds for a ti part out, get a whole driveline that way. just a another option. good luck
