Not sure off the offset yor going to need but your fenders will need to get rolled unless you already have.

liquidgraphix 07-28-2006 11:35 PM

Yea, on a 318ti, the largest is 17" anything bigger you start to get into rolling fenders and modifying...which it sounds like you already have.

Why go any higher than 17" as it will only make the ride really uncomfortable - although you American's do have some silky smooth roads compared to us Brits?

16x7 is fine, looks good with the stock brake size.

Big Rims don't do shiet for a car's looks, cept make it look like a ghetto cruiser.

I was thinking of 17x8, but then realized 1 it's extra weight, 2 don't need that size.

I'm thinking of 15x7 Team Dynamics for the track.

All you wanted to know about tyres

Hi

Try working through this site, it'd got wheel and tyre calculators inbeded so you can try all the different combinations of width to profile to get the best match, and one that fits in the wheel arch too! http://http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html

cheers

i'm running 18x8 wheels and have no issues with them other than the kerb rash. but thats my fault for having such low pro tyres. (didnt need to mod the suspention or wheel arches either)

Was thinking of 19 x 9.5 rear n 19 x 8.5 front,i've rolled my fender front n rear.
Now im using 18 x 8.5 front n rear with 235/40/18 n rub the rear a bit.
Is going 19 a good idea ??
Big wheels look cool n 18 just look a bit small 2 me...wad do u think guys

davep-uk 08-01-2006 08:33 AM

i like big wheels personally. but... i have lost a lot in ride quality going with
18's and i think 19's would be like driving a tractor! it would be painful to drive on a bumpy road ; as well as the additional stress on the suspension components. i wouldnt recommend it unless you were going to do some serious upgrades to the suspension.

just my thoughts.

hey man if that is your ti, i would leave it the way it is those rims look SICK on that car!

1uvaknd 08-02-2006 04:54 PM

yes i have to agree the look to me looks good but when i went to 18x8,5 all a round i felt it in the arse, bumpy, bumpy, bumpy. aside from that i wont go back, but going bigger HELL NO more dough! not to mention its gonna really feel like your riding on stone wheels and think of the brian damage youll get from all the jarring your head will be doing

it already looks lowered. Do you know what suspension parts you currently have?

I still running on stock suspension with King lower spring.

buddhajono 08-04-2006 11:14 PM

my rims are 17x8.5 with an offset of 40mm, the ideal tire size would be 245/40/17, but will I have to make any adjustments if I get tires that are 245/45/17 instead?
