So I test drove a Subaru today

I think I may finance a 2007 Legacy 2.5i Wagon. 5-speed. I test drove it today and its a nice car. I really wanted a 328 Sports Wagon but I need to spend in my budget range so I have money to save at the end of the month.

Anyway, it really is a nice car. I guess all cars, even Hyundais feel solid at first, but I hear many good things about this car.

I'm going back in this Saturday and get the official APR from my credit and maybe I'll drive it home that day.

I've had my Impreza for 2 years now (its an 05) and it sees regular duties at rallycross and autocross and to this day the car does not have a single squeak or rattle, the engine has never given me one ounce of trouble. Subarus are tough as nails, I've driven mine pretty hard and its just as solid today as the day I bought it. I would def recommend getting one!!

Awesome, the Legcay and Impreza both have the same 2.5 liter engine.

I think it's the same color as yours too, regal blue.

i used to work in a subaru dealership. really good cars nowadays, hardly did any warranty work on them, door handles mainly.

Thanks! I have a ton of pictures from that event, if you'd like to see more just PM me :)

Haha, I just got back from the dealer and the jack-off salesman is trying to hustle me with a high APR.

F-it. I'm gonna drive my 94 Accord 'til the wheels fall off. I'm gonna enjoy my 318ti on the weekends and save up money.

Go in with a printout of what you want to pay (down/trade, financing, etc). Ask if they can meet it. If not, leave and thank them for their time. Let them know you're going to shop around.

Make sure your phone number is on the printout. They'll call within two days.

Two words - Auto Broker.....

I find a good one will get you within about 100 bucks of the best average price. They won't beat a real loss leader price but I can work overtime easier than hassle with dealer BS>...

For the financing, most credit unions will pre-approve financing, That way you go to the dealer or broker and the only topic is how much.

Yeah he has my number, and I'm supposed to go back next Tuesday but I'm not. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. The guy and his partner in crime were so quick to change attitudes when I kep asking what the APR was after each quote he gave me.

I hope to find something like 2.9 APR. I need to also shop around for insurance. AIG, my current insurance company, is also looking to hustle me with a $900 quote for 6 months if I keep both the Bimmer and Subaru. What a joke.

Anyway, time to get wasted this Memorial Day weekend!

Have a safe one everyone!

Non Turbo? You'd be mad to buy one!!!

Buy an older-ish Turbo 2000 or something and have a smile on you face ;-)

Ji Money 05-28-2007 05:59 PM

Haha, I don't know. The turbo requires premium fuel and gets worse gas mileage.

I think I'll be happy with a brand new non-turbo. Maybe I'll test drive a turbo though and see what I'll be missing.

Oh yeah, they only offered a turbo model wagon with a 5-speed for like one year only back in 2005 I think so it'll have to be a used one if I get a wagon.
