At least they didn't drop US plans altogether...

And BMW will be bringing a 4 cyl turbo engine to US shores, too!

The turbo 4 is awesome, I'm really glad to see that coming. The only thing that disappoints me is that they are referring to the engine as "28i" when it is only 2.0L displacement. I would love to see a 320i and 120i on the dealer lot. I suppose the same can be said about the N54/55 being the 35i though.

Thanks for the link. :)
I wonder if the X1 would be built in SC?

Looks nearly like a 1 series. The 1 Series diesel is very popular here.

But they are giving us the POS hybrid instead of the diesel in the US from what the trade rags say... God I hate the bad science and damn Al Gore to hell...

Wishing I had a TD TI...

We had to leave our 123d Coupe with the dealer for a week recently (they damaged the car at its first service and sorted it out at their panel shop at their cost of course).

They lent us a new 2.3d X1 auto from the showroom. Having grown accustomed to the precision of our 1-er Coupe with its 6-sp gearbox, awesome torque and fantastic economy, the X1 left us unimpressed.

Despite having the same motor the X1 felt like a slug, steered and handled like a truck, ate 40% more fuel on the highway, and had a pretty useless turning circle.

Our 318ti is a more enjoyable drive despite being more than a decade older, but I guess that depends on what one expects out of a car. Unless you like the urban tractor (and if you love the 318ti, I can't see why you would), don't stress about its late arrival, it really isn't that exciting once you're behind the wheel.
