My alternator decided to die tonight so I am in need of one, if you got one pm me with a price and we'll go from there. 95 318Ti, M42

Hey Steffen, I have one I'll let you have for 20 bucks plus shipping. If it'll fit in a priority mail flat rate box, shipping will only be 10 bucks and you'll have it in 2-3 days. It came from M3_KILL3R's car a while back, not sure of the mileage. I'll get it bench tested at pep boys for you if you want.

Cool man, I checked and it does fit in a flat rate box. It's a Valeo 80 amp, Part# 12311247288. Now that I think about it, it may have came out of Hugo's car. Either way, I'll get it bench tested before I send it out tomorrow and you should get it by Monday, Tuesday at the latest. I PM'd you my paypal addy. Thanks,

It got here, I got it installed...then found out I need a new tensioner, mine's busted.

Bummer dude! Do you need the whole tensioner or just a pulley? I think I may have an extra pulley laying around.

Edit, NVM, I 'm pretty sure mine is off of an M44.

I need the tensioner itself, I wish I only needed the pulley.

That sucks man. I just tore up my freshly cleaned garage:frown: searching for my old one, but I couldn't find it. All I can think of is that I must have gave it to someone.

sounds to me like you need GPS trackers and an inventory system, lol.

Dang, where were you guys two months ago? I had like 4 of them. I was literally giving them away! I have an alternator out of a 325i, but it has a squeaky bearing. Good for a core I suppose.

So who needs a belt tensioner and/or alternator? I have available from a 96 M44. Not sure if these fit M42. Does anyone with more experience know?

Never mind about the tensioner, just checked realoem out of curiosity and they are different. Alternators are same part number so that should be good.

now my rpms surge at idle when i roll my window down..what could this be?
