Why are you interested in US wiring specs, if you have a UK car and UK engine?

sounds like his harness is from the US maybe... ?

No, the wiring instructions I have for the swap are from the US. It turns out the UK harness is different to the US one. We don't have the smaller engine connector as our DME, battery and fusebox are all on the same side. After about 3 hours of looking at wiring diagrams for the check engine circuit, UK 318ti's are wired the same as UK 325's so i dont need to swap any wires as instructed by the US swap instructions. Good bit of info for any UK M50 swappers. The only changes to be made to the wiring for a UK M50 swap are to cut the EWS line to the DME (provided you are using a pre EWS engine and DME, ROad speed signal from Cluster or radio to Engine connector and fuel consumption wire from Engine connector to cluster. And the power cables from battery to starter and fusebox etc. Pretty easy really, now ive done the research. (which nearly fried my brain) These old BMW wiring books are so confusing! Got there in the end

Have you got this sorted out yet?

I see this is an old post; however I have recently aquired a large number of US wiring troubleshooting diagrams (original BMW documents) in searchable PDF format after a long search for my own needs... The dealerships have not been very helpful with this.

Anyway, I have all ti model years for the US (1995-1999) as well as Z3's and a few other models to cover what would be relevant to us.

I am thinking of making a post in the for sale section if there is enough interest...

Anyway, if you need something (and they are model year specific) I can help you out now. Just let me know what you need, and I'll see what I can do for you.
