Fuel tank fitment?

Is the fuel tank in our cars specific to the compact body style?

I discovered that the fuel tank in my newly acquired 332ti has been patched with jb weld at some point in the car's life. How I discovered this: I started smelling fuel the other day and got out to see it pissing fuel directly onto the exhaust. Nice.

I've found a few used gas tanks in junkyards which are TI specific but there are loads more available from sedans, coupes, and convertibles. Much closer to me too. I checked realoem and found that they definitely have different part numbers so I'm assuming they're different but thought I'd ask the experts to be sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To answer my own question if anyone needs this info in the future, the fuel tank in the 318ti is specific to this body style. A tank from a coupe/sedan/vert will not fit.

And just to vent, removing and reinstalling the fuel tank is a major PITA.
