75 shot of Nitrous?

I work at a car shop in Virginia, and we have put
Nitrous on nearly anything you can think of,
our rule of thumb is to never spray more than 50%
of your original HP, 200stock-100N2O, 150stock-75N2O.
So why do I never see anyone spraying more than
50-55 shots into the TI?
My nitrous kit is going on hopefully this week and we
are planning on spraying 70-75.
Anybody have a reason not to do this?
I run 92+ fuel, colder spark plugs, etc;

Yeah I have a great reason, its gay. Dont put nitrous in a euro. Nitrous is for ricers and American Muscle not a well made european car. Please dont ruin your car.

wow... way to be helpful...

Nitrous isn't my choice of power, if done right shouldn't be any more harmful than a supercharger, but there's great potential for going wrong. Also filling up the bottle isn't the most convienent.

I'd be interested in seeing pics and hearing how the install goes. What system are you going with?

Were pretty much piecing the kit together with all the
Nitrous stuff we have around. 10lb NOS brand bottle,
(everything is the NOS brand) using a shark nozzle into
the intake manifold. Too many people dont understand
that many nitrous kits are universial. What will work on
one 4 cylinder will work on just about ANY 4 cyl.
using a full throttle switch as well as a manual switch
if i wanna spray it without the pedal to the floor.
4 Purges, 2 out the front bumper and 2 coming back off
the hood. As far as filling, the shop i work at has it,
so its kinda convenient for me i guess.
Im gonna take pics though, dont worry!!!

I agree with andyman. There is nothing wrong with using nitrous. Some the fastest BMWs use a turbo and nitrous. They are getting in the 8-9 second 1/4 mile. Good luck with the install.

At one time I my friend's zex kit all put in my car, but I never used it because the kit had the wrong jets and I would have to retard the timing. Installation was really pretty easy though. Good luck.

IF YOU CAN, when installed and driving down the road, have a camera and record or have a friend record down the road then pushing that button.

Is it smart to use that with an auto?

AlaskaBlue 03-22-2006 04:54 AM

Yes. That way you want blow your egnine as easy because thhe transmission will down shift under full throttle.

Little words from someone that doesn't understand that power is power. There is nothing wrong with using a Nitrous system as long as it is set up correctly. I will not ruin the car anymore than a supercharger or a turbo. Don't dis a product unless you know something about it.

Onto the topic at hand, the only thing that I would make sure of is that you have enough fule going into the cyln. That is the only thing that could be a problem is if you have a fule supply problem. I only run a 55 shot but I have been thinking about upping it to a 75 shot on the new engine that I am putting in. (NOT blown from Nitrous)

Thats why you put one more fuel pump in for the nitrous. You will have two arm/on switches(Nitrous/gas), which will look nice!!!!! and yes a retard timing control.... all tipical things for NITROUS.... If you guys are interested, I would suggest to do some more reading up on it!

Nitrous is easy and fun, do it. Run a wet system that adds additional fuel along with the Nitrous.

Yep a wet system is the best. Tapping the fuel line is very easy as well. I believe the T valve cost something like 5 dollars.

Im not a nitrous expert but I do know about it and I do know about power. And I dont really care if some of the fastest BMWs use nitrous because in my mind they are ruined. I really dont care if you guys get mad at me for bashing nitrous use and I can state my opinion.

Maybe you should freak out about it.

I am going to run a seprate fuel pump for the
nitrous selenoid, yes it will be wet, which for
those of you who are new to the whole N2O
thing means that N2O and fuel are injected at
the same time through the same nozzle so they mix.
