Plastic Scratches

Anyone know a technique of sanding/painting or any other methods to make plastic look new again?

I am making a fiberglass speaker box and had a hell of a time getting the tape of my rear plastic hatch part(the cover for back taillights). I went ahead and got the tape off with a flathead screwdriver, but now left with scratches. Their not deep, but very noticeable.

Is there anyway to touch-up on plastic? I was going to experiment, but thought I would see if any others have had to restore plastic parts. Thanks.

I have refinished headlights with high grit sandpaper (1000 to 2000 range) and when I finish with the 2000 grit I switch to a polish suitable for plastic.

I will try to sand it out, probably with 1000 first, their not that deep, but I can fit almost my whole fingernail in it. Thx.

I tried the above and it only worked for a few spots. I then sanded it with 800grit, polished it, then painted with a nice paint called Krylon Fusion(for plastic). It looks better than it did new, it has a nice black satin look to it now.
