My S54 swapped ti

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Tomek, I'm on my second 318ti. My first one was an S52 swap that I had for 3 years and currently I have an S54 swap which I built this past summer. Built in AZ but now living in Madison, WI.

Oddly enough, I have never driven a stock and sorted ti. I only drove my cars as 4 cylinders a few miles each in poor mechanical shape right before tearing them apart.

Anyways, here's a few pictures.

OMG, Oh so awesome, but the plate kinda gives away your sleeper status ;) but I bet it is a BLAST to drive!!

More details on the additional lights, I'm looking for some help in the canyons...

That's an awesome, rare build!! Must be really fast with an s54. Have you ever measured any 0-60 or 1/4 mile times?

Wow [emoji15] that's the dream build right there! I was put off originally because I heard these swaps were a wicked PITA, how was it for you?

Yeah it's definitely a lot of fun, now I just need to do the suspension to match.

The lights are just KC HiLites I picked up at Autozone, wired to a switch in one of the blank spots by the ASC switch. For now they are just screwed into the bumper but they're not aimed well. I will be making a bracket for them in the near future.

I haven't done any timing on it but but I estimate a 0-6 of 4.5-5 sec and a 12.75 sec 1/4. But that's just based on hp to weight. I'll do actual runs once it gets warmer out.

It's definitely not for the faint of heart, It helped a lot that It wasn't my first swap and I have a good amount of experience in wiring. As with any swap, lot of it is in the preparation; research, thorough parts list, and making sure parts are either reusable or replaced. A full donor vehicle helped tremendously as well.

Haha what a beast! Is traction an issue at all? Would love to see a video of it ripping around!

You could get some stock 15" hub caps to hide some drag slicks. Lol

Yeah a little bit, especially with current temperatures the super sports are not sticky and gripping at all. I can spin my wheels through third and the 3.73 rear end doesn't help that very much. With this power it mostly just gets into the realm of being able to easily step out if you want to/ are not careful. During the summer 245 super sports do pretty well but I haven't driven it all that much in good conditions yet. Next racing season I will definitely get some track time and use that to help me balance the car.
