headlight help

Hey guys, I bought the Depo Projectors w/ angel eyes from bavauto. They worked great, but now for some reason, the headlights dont work. The angel eyes and warning lights still come on @ half and full pull of the light switch. But the headlights do not come on @ full pull. I thought fuses, and no luck. I thought bad connection, and wiggled the wires, no luck. Do you guys have any ideas on where to look next?

id take another good look at the fuses and check your whole wiring maybe something went wrong. Check the bulbs see if their still in tact and not burned out. so do these steps in order.
1) carefully check the driver side and passenger side headlight fuses and replace them with 15 amp fuses.
2) check your headlight wiring from the inside of the headlight to the car.
3) check the bulbs
4) check the wire harness it might have went bad.

Check the fuses again very carefully. The filament is very fine on the OEM fuses, and it's very easy to overlook a broken one. I once bought 2 new H1 fog bulbs thinking there were both burned out. Turns out I didn't inspect the fuse carefully enough.

it's jsut the regular headlgihts. Thr brights work fine, and the Angel eyes work great. I'll just replace the fuses.. and see what happens

after lokoing closer, the actual piece that connects to the bulb, looks burnt. SO i'm wondering if it's the entire wiring inside is just fried. And if so, how hard is it to fix. It looks like just the driver side, but would that burn out both sides?

snwbrdrbum10 07-19-2007 01:51 AM

also, how can i prevent this from happeneing again?

ATF 07-19-2007 01:52 AM

Could you post some pictures? The wiring burned through the insulation? If that's the case, it's not a good sign.

col.hapablap 07-19-2007 03:24 AM

sounds like the wires melted then shorted the lights. get some heavier gauge wires and re-wire. check the voltage while you're at it. try to get a replacement socket or even a whole new light all together if you just got them. how's the seal around the housing?

+1

Just complain to BavAuto and see what they have to say. I'm sure they'll make it right.

Did you double check your fuses? Sometimes it may not look like it's blown, but it really is. Just try swapping them out to be sure.

As for the wires/burnt, are there any bare wires or connections that just look ungodly black?

i'll try to take some pictures later tonight when i can. But the metal connector that attaches to the bulb itself. The plastic around it got fried.
