Pickup with a power gate in LA

Don't know where this should go...
I'm looking to hire a pickup with a power gate to move a small lathe and milling machine from El segundo to Long Beach Tues or Wed.
I looked on CL; lots of big vans with gates but nothing that will go into my shop.
Does anybody have one or have any good leads? Payment is no problem.
I'd rather not drag them up a tilt trailer or something in case they tip and I have an engine crane to lift them onto and off the gate
thanks

Check with local truck rental places... The U-Haul near me sometimes has a lift gate pickup or box truck...

Penske or Budget truck rentals are another option.

Budget? never even thought of them; I always thought of them as box truck guys. Thanks!
Buddy told me that Home Depot rents them as well!
New toys are just too exciting :)

Enterprise rents small box trucks (12'-16') with lift gates. Not sure where you are in LB, but the U-Haul at PCH and Walnut usually has a large variety of trucks for rent (I'm in LB too and have rented from them several times).

Actually, yes- I believe Home Depot's pickups have lift gates!

Thanks guys!
My hole-in-the-wall "shop" is in a really narrow lane and I can barely get my car in and out so anything bigger than a regular cab pickup won't work so off to Home Depot and U Haul

Hey Zoner; what do you drive? My Ti is green w/17in BBS on it; looks nice from 50ft away. lol
I'm at Scott Parson's shop quite often looking for info and ideas....cool guy

I have a black (cosmosschwarz) '95 ti w/ Style 22 wheels. It's currently wrecked and sitting in the driveway, but I'm hoping to hear from Allstate this week to see what they're going to do about it. Fingers crossed that I'll have it back on the road shortly.

What other sort of "toys" do you have in your shop?

urbanmisfit 12-11-2011 01:58 AM

Sorry to hear that, sux. I hope you have good luck with your ins!
The lathe and mill are the first big "toys" I'm replacing; I was broken into and totally cleaned out last spring... Friggin neighbor's kid I'm sure because he knew I was gone for a week!
I'm off to "Stack of Dimes" welding school (tig) in Jan so that gives you an idea of what I'm up to.
