Drive shaft questions???
 

As you know im doing an M50 swap. I have the choice of using either the stock M44 tranny or the M50 tranny. (both getrag) If I use the M44 box, I still use my stock shaft right? And if I use the M50 box (preffered) Do I need the front section of the shaft from a 325 or can I still use my stock shaft? I have both gearboxes but only my stock shaft at the moment. Ive searched the forum but can't find a definate answer. Cheers

I don't know the differences between the getrag units, but im pretty certain you will want to use the shaft from whatever drivetrain you use .... m50 tranny - use m50 shaft, m44 tranny - use m44 shaft.

I know my m44 shafts works perfect with my 2.8 and stock box

Did you have to move the gearbox back onto the second set of mounting holes or just leave it where is was with the 4 cyl in? Also which clutch and flywheel are you using? 318 or 328?

I agree with Philly. On mines the stock Ti drive shaft was shorter but mines was a automatic too. I just use whatever comes with the tranny.
