What shocks for my ti?

I'd like to keep my ti a street car with occasional track time.

I have a '96 318ti with M-Sports package and M Sport suspension. The car has 114k mi and the rear shocks are showing very small signs of leakage. I'm thinking about replacing the rear shocks.
Looking up OEM shocks my shop says they have the 'Sport' shocks for a bout $150 each and the 'M-tech' adjustable shocks for about $190 each. What is the difference between my M-Sport package and the M-tech shocks.

What I don't understand is if I have the M-Sports package how come mine are not adjustable? I guess they are not 'M-tech'

Can you help me understand this?
What is my best alternative for rear shocks?

My guess the shocks are different because the springs and sway bars are different.
BMW know a thing or two about suspension.

No stock struts are adjustable.

Get some Bilsteins instead... very steetable, not alot of better options out there for the track too. Lifetime warranty is a nice bonus.
