Idle Leak! Lights and Noise! grrrr!
 

Hi all,

Info: 1997 BMW 318ti, she has 165k

Oil Problem: Noticed leaking oil during start-ups every morning. I noticed about 8oz of oil every morning when I would have her warm up. When I drive school and turn the engine off and start it up again she doesn't leak? :? .

Light: The check engine light came on and while I am on the highway the light above the check engine light came on as well, but when I am in the city and doing stop and goes the light goes off. I just had my tires changed and realined.

Noise: To make matters oh so sweet, just before the oil leak during early morning idle she would make this whinning noise, if I add RPM it would go higher then the noise would stop. While driving I would not hear anything until she drop below 1200 RPMs.

I want so say thanks to everyones post about power window regulators. My driver side window kept falling off this track and the dealer told me to fix it my window it would cost $350.00 I just laughed and walked out after he told me I needed to replace the motor, regulator, other parts needed. After reading everyones post. I spent $7.00 for two plastic pieces and 30minutes and my windown works great!
