brake light mod (Not to be confused with extra brake light mod)
 

OK, so as you may or may not know, the e36/5 compact's tail light lighting sequence is different from the other e36's. So, to remedy that I went ahead and modified the tails using the DIY on this site... I had got a set of tail backings for free and decided to cut the metal lines instead of drilling into them. I then ran a wire from location to location using slide on connectors directly onto the metal prongs... worked like a charm!

Oh, I also managed to put on my 318ti badge in the correct location this time!

I always wondered why BMW didn't just do that in the first place since the ti is the only E36 that uses the outside sockets for brake lights :confused: looks pretty good, and I see your spare tire carrier is no longer red :wink:

You might be for a while.. mine is going off the road come april for a full strip down and respray
