DASC - Supercharger Pulley

If anyone is interested in obtaining a smaller pulley for their DASC. Check out the following website: http://www.itsallaboutspeed.com

How soon would I blow my engine at 15PSI on stock internals? How much power would I make at 11 and 15PSI? approximately

Good Question ..

Well this is what I can tell you. I would not swap in either pulley with out being on a dyno so you can keep an eye on AFR's. You may need to make some other adjustments such as bigger injectors or a piggy back system to control the new amount of fuel required. There are a bunch of people that bought them on bimmerforums so check there and maybe you can get an idea.

I can tell you that our test car makes 10.8 RWHP per pound of boost. So at 11 PSI we made 118 RWHP.

Other then tuning, what other things have you done on your 11PSI test car? do you mean 218RWHP or an additional 118RWHP over stock?

There are a lot of mods to list but I will try to just list the main ones.

Ported and Polished Head
S&S Valves
272 Dur. 10.5 Lift Cams
Titanium Valve Springs
ARP Head Stud Kit
Split Sec. MAF Conv.
34.5# Fuel Injectors
DASC
11 PSI Pulley
AFPR
IAAS - Air/Water Intercooler

The last time we wento the dyno the car pulled 209 RWHP & 175 Lbs. TQ.

I'm resurrecting this-- ZeroG where did you get your S&S valves and titanium valve springs? Is there a good source of these? I'd like them for my rebuild. Which pulley did you use to make 11 psi?

very soon! primarely cause you'd be SUPER lean (more air than fuel) - and your pistons would be pitted & fried in no time.

a very bad thing to do...

thats pretty much what I've been told to expect with my 2.0L Metric motor...

258' intake + stock exhaust cam
M3 MAF
3 inch pulley
Snow water/meth injection
larger fuel pump
42.8 lb. Lucas injectors
remap
14 lb. Metric flywheel

holly crap - I just realized this thread is 5 years OLD. LOL :)

5 Years, old LOL!

Anyway, I got all the parts for the build from BMP Design including the cams. I am not sure how many M42 parts they still sell, but they use to have a ton even though they weren't in the catalog. You just had to call them and ask. The owner is Al Hafner, so if you ask for him he'll give you the scoop on what is really lying around.

The pulley I used on my M42 to get 11PSI was the 3.4". Something to keep in mind is that the stock HG will lift around 10 psi even with headstuds. In an effort to prevent the lifting I switched to an MLS and shattered a piston ring at the next track day. :(

Danny318 07-06-2009 06:22 PM

The MLS had nothing to do with the piston ring shattering, right?

pnosker 07-06-2009 06:52 PM

Maybe the ring couldn't handle the pressure. I'm going S52 pistons and rings with a 10:1 CR hopefully. I want to run 14 PSI with water/meth injection. 2L of supercharged power!

I want new valve springs and valves though, but it's an M44. Any idea on M44 stuff ZeroG?

Well, the weakest point internally to an engine is the HG. So when I beefed it up and it could not hold the pressure the next thing to go was the ring. :(

Another thing to keep in mind is that this car was a track rat and was FI for 60K miles.

If I were doing the build now, I would talk to MM and BMP. I know the Ferrera make S&S valves for every application, but they're in the neighborhood of $35 ea. I believe.
