Art Car research (for me and for all)

So I've been studying studio art for the last 9 or so years and I've always been in love with the art car movement, particularly the BMW Art car history. My current main point of interest is abstract expressionism and pop art. I've been drawing cars since I was a kid all the way through high school, and I wanted to get into Transportation Design, but I did Studio Art/Graphic Design instead (for now). This leads me to something I've always wanted to do: make an art car of my own

I would love to keep my design abstract.

Some of you guys may have seen this one on bf.c:

I tried to garner up some ideas for myself via the paint mode in Forza Motorsport 3, but the ideas don't flow right off the finger like painting does...

This will be on the 330ti BTW

you have the front end of this car listed, but here is the whole thing.

i had plans on doing this to my car, but it never went through. the girl that was going to do it would have done it as a sponsorship to get more customers for her art bis(at cost + $10 an hour since she would have to take off from work) , but i backed out because i was scared it would fade to quick. should have just did it.

i really enjoy alot of the looks above though. if i had some extra cash, i would def get something done. i wish my car was good enough to get a sponsor that would cut the cost of painting it done to a price i could afford. haha

art supplies don't cost me a thing I just use what I have, but you can trust I'll be looking to do it right.

In regards to the fade, I think the owner of that E46 put clear over it of some sort

for sharpie cars, you need a special sharpie (not really a sharpie at all) a real sharpie would not give a clean black line like that. (more of a purple line that is not perfect) so the pens should needed were not cheap, but not expensive.

she was alittle worried about fading. even with clear coat, she was worried that the black would fade under the clear coat. that scared me alittle. i wish i would have just done it, since it still looked cool, but a faded car would look lame. then for her to do it again and get it re-painted and all that hassle.

i think my favorite is picture 6. i would do that if my car was nicer.. haha.. like NOT a ti.. maybe a z4 or something longer and not as round as the hatchback.

i think pic 10 would be nice for my car. i enjoy art, so if i can get it on my car, it would be a huge bonus to me. haha. i have been looking at stuff like this for awhile, but money has been tight for me. i can afford to put about $500 - 1k for a paint job, but i can not afford jobs like this. plus, my luck, my car would take a crap after i did it.. haha.
