If this goes bad, does it cause your car to kick like Bronco? Is there any solution other than replacing it?

it can, but not very likely.

To clean it get some "MAF Cleaner" from the auto parts store, or electronic contact cleaner from radio shack. Spray inside the MAF onto the elements. Do NOT disassemble the unit.

Also check for leaks in your intake boot, and also clean your idle air control valve.

ok, I did this last night. It definetly helped, but I'm still getting some bucking when I get up into higher speeds and only on the acceleration.

This meter (Bosch made) is less than a year old. Do they usually go bad so quickly? I did see some tears in the boot, but no holes.

Leave it on and unplug it run the car see what happens it should goto a default setting but idle will be all over place.

Replace the boot before you spend any money on anything else. That is 100% part of the problem.

After that, you may want to look at a O2 issue.

I went in again tonight and removed everything and sprayed it all down with maf claeaner. It did the trick! Thanks for the advice guys!

Now, I noticed some crackling from under the car. I'm thinking my cat converter is on it's way out. Oh well.
