I can't get my water pump out and the top just broke off
 

any suggestions on how I can remove this thing?

are you pulling straight out?....cause that wont work. sometimes if you twist it back and forth (or i should say clockwise/counterclockwise), it will break loose. also a prybar to the pulley might work....being VERY carefull.

When I removed mine it was very easy... Maybe it is too late now, but there are 2 treaded holes on the pump where you're supposed to put in the bolt that holds the pump. By screwing in the bolt you push on the block and the pump comes loose. You have to alternate back and forth form one bolt to the other... Hopefully this helps

I tried using the extraction holes when removing mine a while back. It broke like I suspected it would. The reason why is there is a gigantic O-ring fitted around the water pump housing. The O-ring literally compresses into the hole on the timing cover. DO NOT PRY against your motor or pulleys!!! You could very easily crack or damage something as the cover is made of aluminum and the pulleys are plastic. Get a big ass pair of channel lock pliers, grab the water pump and twist it back and forth (clockwise/counterclockwise) a few times while pulling towards the front of the car. Be careful once it breaks free, because it's going to want to hit the radiator.

We've replaced the radiator, the thermostat and the pump and we are still having the same issue....

The car is overheating and I'm not getting any hot air from the heater.

Sounds like you need to bleed the system again. What works very good for me is having the car on ramps.: this makes the bleeding screw the highest point in the system (although it's supposed to be also on a flat surface, having the car on ramps makes it faster & easier). Make sure you put the heater at the highest temperature setting with the fan at max speed. Do not step on the gas while the bleeding screw is off or you'll spray water everywhere (ask me how I know... ehehehe)

In case the water pump brakes, here's described a possible way to remove it.
