rieger lip finally installed

Well, ive been interested in this lip since i first got my car and i finally picked one up and i must say, i really like the way it looks!

now, the main reason im posting this is because i had every intention of getting it painted along with my hamann hatch spoiler thats to go on soon, but ive had a handful of people tell me to keep it black, and i really don't know anymore... what do you guys think?

I think it looks really good. Keep it black for a subtle look. It might look like some massive body kit if you paint it red. Maybe somebody on here will photoshop it for you. anyways, nice find. where'd you get it?

Your ti's coming along really well. I love the wheels and the lip looks great. I'm getting a Reiger Cup Lip pretty soon. Keep up the good work.

BTW, the second pic looks like an '08 Calendar candidate to me:smile:

Didn't last long, with the roads in NY.

Although I'm typically not one for unpainted body parts, I think the contrast works well on your car; I say keep it black. And the Hamann spoiler is the one that looks like the Reiger without the center support, right?

yeah where did u get that lip? and how much did u spend on it?

Philly 09-02-2007 03:57 PM

thanks for the compliments guys!

it doesn't fit seem to fit as snug as yours L8, ill definitly have to play with it a little more.

i got the lip from namotorsports, it cost me about $160US or so before tax and shipping, but since im in canada, after exchange rates and border fee's it was like $300 CAD...

ive been whacking it on everything, thank god for ABS plastic, which is another reason im apprehensive about painting it cause its just gonna get scarred up anyways and the paint my stiffen the lip up making it more suseptable(sp?) to cracking.

and yes, the hamann spoiler is similar to the rieger without the center support.

and cooljess, thanks man! :)
as for calendar 08 candidate, im gonna get my spoiler on, wetsand it and shine it up real nice and revisit that spot for my calendar entry ;)

i say paint it. in a past life i had the Rieger Cupspoiler lip and i painted it to match the car. i left the splitter black though. the lip cracking due to painting will not happen. just make sure you use a flexible primer and paint. i could literally twist the lip without it cracking. since you just have the Infinity lip... scraping will be a BIA when its painted.

Where did you get the rear one?

Philly 09-12-2007 11:15 PM

the rear one????
the Hamann spoiler you mean?
if so, i got it from BavAuto for about $300US... but that was on clearance, since it normally retails for $569US (IIRC)

Yes, that's the one I was talking about. Thanks!

It will look good either way, but if it were my car I'd paint it red.
