what tool do I need to remove axles from Diff? Working on parting out the silver Ti and came across this what tool do I use for the axle bolt? it's looks to be 10mm..but it's not a true bolt. |
EDIT: does the bolt look like the one on the left? http://www.318ti.org/gallery/showpho...e=9999&way=asc is the bolt a male torx head? if so, you need the female set to remove them, sears has a nice set. |
male torx...yeap |
advance auto had a nice cheap set. Less than $10. They've lasted thru at least a dozen e30/e28 transmission jobs, so the quality can't be that bad. |
I went to Sears..No Dice. |
that's odd. if memory serves, it was in with their car care tools section. the brand may be lisle. i seem to remember red/white coloring. yeah, wow, my memory just amazed me! http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00947733000 |
I just bought the set at Auto barn. Quote:

look harder home depot |
Don't waste your money. I paid $20 for the set and it's a hassle to use them when a small sae wrench fit it snug. I don't remember the size but when I put my diff in it cut the time in more than half. |
