i got components, so the 5.25 in the kicks is a mid bass speaker and the tweeter goes up in the door where the factory one mounts. I havent actually mounted the tweeter yet, cos the bmw one has a stud on the back of it and i havent sussed a suitable method of mounting my new one. The crossover can go up under the lower trim panels on either side. I use rainbow products. they are good for sound quality. I have a 10 in the boot for proper bass.

regards

Nige

i have regular 5.25 cone speakers in the lower front, and have cut my doorcards to allow a set of 5.25 components to fit where the tweeters were. i have used jbl all round.

i got kenwood ps1600 components ( i think, the number is size dependant) and they are brilliant. I used the standard tweeters in the doors as it would have been hassle trying to get the new ones there/siomewhere else. Just hooked them up to the ps crossovers.

Vasquez I have a 400watt Fosgate amp tacked behind the back of one of the back seats & a JL 8" sub in a standard 14" truck box on the floormat behind the driver's seat. You can move the box to the trunk when people get in the back seat and no wires visible. Parts & install cost $450, I used the alpine head that came w/ the car.

The sub uses input from one of those wire-crimp things, not the best way to do it I guess but it sounds damn good - a lot better than my buddy's who just spent $1500 outfitting a new tundra with head, two Alpine amps & a pair of 8" Polks.

sounds do-able... i was thinking of getting something along the lines of Infinity bass link setup... or a 10" tube,- my friends works at best-buy so he gets bad @$$ discounts... but i have to install...so thats the only draw back.
thanks for the in-put. hows that JL sound tho... i know they make some pretty good stuff.
