e46 2000 323i donor? A buddy of mine has a 2000 323i that he's starting to prep/save up for a s54 swap... and will be practically giving me his old parts. From wikipedia Quote:

Not quite sure why you would spend all that money trying to get a 170HP engine to work when you could just buy an s52 for less of a headache and more HP. /boggle Also, an m52tu is actually more similar to an m54 than its m/s52 family. |
All what money? I wouldn't spend a $1k on changing it over to a s5x when a s5x only costs a bit more. That would be silly... And it looks like the only cost would be in z3 wiring/dme, etc and a few accessories for fit. Also, he's pretty sure his block is aluminum... I can't find any documentation that says a my2000 323 would have an aluminum block, but he's fairly positive. If thats the case it only weighs a couple kilos more than an m44. |

I guess I should edit out the useless info so people read to the end of my post... |
I dont have a solid answer to the harness question but I doubt you will find much info on it considering that m52b28's are 20 more HP, cheap, and easy to swap in. All of which im sure you already knew so, sorry for the less than helpful post. |
Hi, Im in a similar situation, ive been given a 1999 323i se, 72,000 miles, it has a couple of mods, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, induction kit & superchip. The rear bushes are shot & theres rust on both the arches so I was considering pulling the motor, ecu, loom, cooling system, brakes etc to bolt into my 1998 E36 318ti. Is this gonna be possible without major headaches? Any info would be appreciated! |
